Hi guys, I just wanted to see what you guys thought about this PC that am going to build after Christmas.

Motherboard: Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer (Intel X5

Power Supply: Cooler Master 1000W Real Power Modular

Hard Drive: 1 TB (1000 GB) SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 32MB

CD/DVD Drive: Samsung (SH-S223L) DVD /- RW 22x - Black - Lightscribe (SATA)

Sound Card: Asus Xonar D2 Ultra Fidelity 7.1 (PCI)

Change the CPU cooler. The stock HSF is rubbish. You'll be touching 70c with it.

Thank Sky man. I will take alook at that and ask the guy at the shop. I dont think it will be needed as it has a big fan on the side of the cover. but I will ask and see what he says. its not big problem as its a easy simple add on.

andy try and get a Thermalright Ultra 120, its probably the best on the market.

The Zalman is made of copper and very heavy and bulky. Where as the Thermalright is made of aluminum and just as good at cooling.

Just my 2 cents.

At home I'm running

CPU - Core 2 duo E6600

HD - 120gb Raptor
HD - 320 GB Seagate (perpendicular recording technology)

GC - 9800GTX

SC - X-Fi XtremeGamer

Mobo - MSI P7N Platinum

HS - Thermalright - SI 128

RAM - Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800

PSU - Corsair CMPSU 800 watt I think.

O/S - Windows XP home

Nice spec there man. Cant wate to get mine then its Gaming like mad time hehe. might be the end of me here then so that will make CAPE happy and my self ^_^

If you dont do overclocking then changing the CPu heatsink is unnecesary. Temperatures under 70 c is not dangerous.

Memory: Corsair 12GB (6x2GB) XMS3 1600MHz - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)
The memory is overkill if you dont do photo/vidoe/music editing. Games dont need more then 4GB.

Power Supply: Cooler Master 1000W Real Power Modular
Change to a 750W or 850W. Much cheaper and you will not run out of power anyway. It will probably use a maximum of 600W (probably not even that much).
Take a look at this http://www.sweclockers.com/articles_show.php?id=6212&page=8 two radeon hd5870 with a i7 950 uses 427W.

NO NO NO. It's just a waste of money choose the 920 instead. Five times cheaper and the same performance can be reachen with some easy overclocking without changing the volt. If you dont change the volt it wont get any warmer.

There's a lot cheaper cases but as the case is visible i wont say anything about it.

Buy a plane jane case, and make your own case is the best way to go, thats just my opinion. All you need is a steady hand a drill, drill bits,and a router.

Drill bits for the mounting case fan holes, and the router to make the big hole for the fan to blow in. Then I would also like to suggest a dremel tool to cut a window out and glue some plexi glass to it make it look top notch.

The key hear is a steady hand.

Just remember to _NOT_ buy the i7 975 and that you dont need that amount of power and it will be great.
